Darth Vader Robs Long Island Bank

Darth Vader Robs Long Island Bank: "Apparently the destruction of the second Death Star has stretched the Galactic Empire's coffers so thin that Lord Vader himself is robbing banks. From the article: "Impotent Rebel Alliance security forces tell Newsday (paywall) that Vader marched into a Chase bank in Setauket around 11:30 a.m. today. Brandishing a completely unnecessary handgun—as he had the power to choke the oxygen out every teller's throat—the fallen Jedi demanded cash."

Pixar Star Wars

Pixar Star Wars: "

The artist known as Sillof (previously at Neatorama) combined the characters from Star Wars with the characters from various Pixar movies. Take a look through the gallery and see how logical the choices are. I particularly got a kick out of Obi-Wan Carlobi! Link -via Unreality Magazine

AT-AT wedding cake

AT-AT wedding cake: "

Rebecca Dudeiros had her pastry chef friend Teresa Ulrich whip up this fantastic AT-AT wedding cake and matching Ewok cupcakes -- a sweetly nerdy way to begin a long and happy marriage, I'm sure.

These Are the Plates I'm Looking For

These Are the Plates I'm Looking For: "You know the feeling when something comes into your life and changes it so drastically that you can't fathom how you even LIVED before?

Early man surely felt this way about the wheel. I have previously felt this way about System of a Down's first album (high school), the eyelash curler (college), and now, these altered antique plates featuring Star Wars characters:

I did not know happiness before I knew these existed. Amazing.About $35 each, here.

Looking At Stars Wars Candid Shots Is Like Looking At Your Old Prom Photos [Star Wars]

Looking At Stars Wars Candid Shots Is Like Looking At Your Old Prom Photos [Star Wars]: "
There's an endearingly goofy nostalgia about these vintage Star Wars pics. It's like seeing photos of old friends and laughing about their atrocious haircuts. Check out C-3PO smoking cigs, a boneless Chewie, and a Hoth family portrait after the jump.

Seeing the cast of the original trilogy goofing off on set is surreal, and the non-CGI props and alien puppets just compound the unreality of it all. These photographs - and a slew more - can be found at Total Film. Look out for the photo of the Chewbacca pelt - it's akin to seeing Santa Claus take off his beard.
